Last night I had the good luck to attend another historic concert in Vienna. The Mozart-Saal of Wiener Konzerthaus was fully booked for a rather evoking event; Beat Furrer conducting Klangforum Wien in a programme featuring Beat's "Studie 2 – à un moment de terre perdue", "linea dell'orizzonte", "intorno al bianco" and his iconic "Concerto for Piano and Orchestra". The highly detailed performance of the ensemble along with Furrer's large scale structural designs truly conjured up the topographical perspectives of the vedutisti. On the highlights of the night is Joonas Ahonen's refreshing performance of the concerto for piano. Below a picture after the concert.
